About the Gallery
Maven Gallery began with a simple idea: to create a brick-and-mortar space for art, light, and connection in our home town.
After years immersed in creative spaces elsewhere, we began looking for a way to be a part of the amazing art scene here in Wichita where I've lived most of my life.
We started looking for a small studio space -- just a place to work and maybe occasionally invite friends in. But when we got a call about a space that had opened up in our neighborhood, we were curious about its potential. The moment we walked in, we knew it could, and should, be more than just our studio… we both felt it had the bones to be an art gallery.
Of course, photography was our starting point. We have a love for light, for story, and the way a single image can transform perspectives, inspire ideas and hold meaning. As photography-focused galleries have grown more rare, we felt compelled to create a space that honors the medium -- and brings people together around it.
As the gallery takes shape, we're starting with an exhibit of our own work and we're also working on a growing roster of inspiring artists from near and far.
Over the years, one of my favorite parts of being in Wichita has been sharing stories and leading workshops with local high school art programs. Last year, we had an incredible time serving as jurors for a regional student art competition -- a reminder of just how much creativity and promise lives in our next generation.
We're committed to continuing that work -- partnering with schools to support young artists, spark imagination early on, and help students see what's possible through art.
This is a space for discovery, dialogue, and beauty and we're grateful to be here.
